About Us

Exploring the Infinite Cosmos Together

Who Are We?

The science of astronomy is an adventure, a quest in the universe where meaning can be found among the stars. At STEM High School for Boys - 6th of October, the Astronomy Club was initiated to unite the learners that look and gaze at the night sky and see questions that they are eager to answer. We are a group of curious peers who love to explore the celestials, the processes taking place in the universe and the unknown secrets in the beyond. We are either gazing at the far away planets by a telescope or talking about the life cycle of a star, all united through our interest of exploring the vast universe.

What We Do?

Our club is a combination of theory and literature with practice. We conduct observation sessions, astronomy lectures, and group discussions regularly to extend our knowledge on astrophysics and space science. Members are involved in stargazing nights, competitions, research and collaborative projects.

Armageddon Event

Step into the shoes of planetary defenders! In this thrilling simulation event, participants work together to devise strategies to save Earth from approaching asteroids. Using real astronomical data and physics calculations, teams compete to find the most effective solutions to prevent cosmic catastrophes.

This event combines scientific accuracy with excitement, as members learn about orbital mechanics, impact dynamics, and space mission planning while racing against time to save humanity.

×

Astro Hunt

Embark on an intellectual journey through the cosmos! Astro Hunt is our signature treasure hunt event where participants solve astronomical puzzles, decode celestial coordinates, and follow star maps to uncover hidden clues.

Each clue challenges your knowledge of constellations, planetary motion, stellar evolution, and space exploration history. Teams race across campus, solving riddles that lead them deeper into the mysteries of the universe.

×

Star Trek

Join us for an immersive virtual voyage through our solar system and beyond! Using advanced simulation software and VR technology, participants can explore different celestial bodies, walk on alien worlds, and experience the wonders of space exploration firsthand.

From the volcanic landscapes of Io to the methane lakes of Titan, Star Trek offers an unforgettable journey that brings astronomy textbooks to life.

×

Sambhar Lake Trip

Experience astronomy under some of the darkest skies available! Our annual trip to Sambhar Lake provides the perfect opportunity for serious stargazing, astrophotography, and deep sky observation.

Away from city lights, members can observe faint galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters while learning practical telescope operation and astronomical imaging techniques. This extended Yuri's Night celebration combines adventure with serious astronomical observation.

×

Night Camp

Immerse yourself in the healing darkness of the midnight sky. Our overnight camping events combine astronomy with outdoor adventure, creating unforgettable experiences under the stars.

Participants engage in night-long observation sessions, learn about circumpolar constellations, track satellite passes, and share stories around the campfire while waiting for the perfect shot of the Milky Way.
